So what is a website?

A website is a collection of related web pages that can include text, images, videos and more.

Recently, some websites consist of only one page that has different sections.

More commonly, a website would have multiple pages each with specific content, like about the company, product or services, etc.

These pages are available on the internet and is publicly viewable using a web browser, such as Chrome, Firefox, etc.

Types of websites

There are many categories of websites.

Business website

A business website is one that contains information about the company, the product or services that it provides.

e-Commerce website

An e-Commerce website is specifically targeted at selling products on the internet.

It provides details about each product, price, shipping, as well as a payment gateway that allows a customer to make payment.

Blogs

Then there are websites that share content, such as articles. These can be about a person, news, articles on how to, etc.

For example, you could set up a website to share recipes, or create a portfolio to highlight your work.

Social Media websites

Social media websites enable users to connect, share content, and communicate with others online.

Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn are some examples of social media websites
